What is so different about Harry’s Famous Sauces?
French cooking introduced us to “mother sauces,” the foundational sauces upon which countless dishes are built. Renee, classically trained at Le Cordon Bleu, Paris, incorporated this philosophy into Harry’s Famous products.
Our sauces are more than pantry staples, they’re tools for transformation. Short cuts to deep flavor(think meals in minutes not hours). Elevate everything you can imagine: braised short ribs, slow-cooked stews, stuffed shells, or a new twist on lasagna. Simple, versatile, anything but boring—our sauces are the key to unlocking your culinary creativity.
We also think deeply about nutrition and how to make it easier for home cooks to get more of the “good stuff” without more effort – so our products are all crafted with this in mind. Check out
each product page for info on why our sauces are so incredibly delicious, nutritious, and unique!
Are Harry’s Famous Sauces certified Organic?
While we do use some certified organic herbs and spices in our sauces, none of our other ingredients are certified organic at this time. We are working on several certifications right now. Stay tuned for more news!
Are Harry’s Famous Sauces Kosher?
Not yet, but we are working on this!
Are Harry’s Famous Sauces Gluten-free?
All of our sauces are certified Gluten-free by the Gluten-Free Food Program (GFFP).
There are no ingredients used in the recipes that contain gluten, however cross contamination can occur that is outside of our control. The gluten-free threshold is currently less than 20ppm per the FDA. Please see all gluten analyses for all 6 sauces HERE.
Are Harry’s Famous Sauces Keto-Friendly?
Our sauces may be a good food choice for those following a keto-style diet as they are
carbohydrate and sugar conscious, consistent with other keto-friendly food options.
Do Harry’s Famous Sauces have Non-GMO and / or Upcycled certifications?
Five of our sauces are certified Project Non-GMO and our Lemon Pepper Dill is additionally “Upcycled Certified” thanks to our collab with Matriark Foods and their incredible upcycled liquid
mirepoix (Onions, Carrots, & Celery).
We are working on Rosemary Red Wine and will keep you up to date as we work diligently to get that sauce certified. With transparency, two ingredients are challenging us: Honey & Red Wine. We are grateful for our work with Where Food Comes From and can’t wait to get these
over the line!
What is so unique about Harry’s Famous Rosemary Red Wine Sauce?
The incredibly unique combination of Rosemary and Red Wine along with the rest of the simple kitchen-found ingredients makes the sauce’s aroma and flavor totally unforgettable and distinctive: fresh, herbaceous, and deeply rich and wine-forward.
This is the only red sauce you need. Turn it into Harry’s Famous Bolognese, Meatballs, Pizza, Soup, any kind of Pasta, Eggplant Parm, and on and on! This sauce will become your pantry staple used to inspire and elevate your culinary creations. We like to call it “a restaurant experience in a jar.”
Does Harry’s Famous Rosemary Red Wine have alcohol in it?
Red wine is used as one of the ingredients to achieve the extraordinary, robust flavor in this sauce. Recent lab analysis (6.2024) demonstrates the cooking process successfully ensures alcohol is burned off with results: Ethanol 1.5% (w/w), classifying the product as “unfit for beverage purposes.”
The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) defines nonbeverage food products as products that contain alcohol but are not consumed primarily as beverages.
“Nonbeverage products” are products different from alcoholic beverages, which are defined with the following criteria: 1) They must be unfit for beverage purposes and; 2) They must fall within one of the six eligible product classes. The six classes are foods, flavors, flavoring extracts, medicines, medicinal preparations, and perfumes. TTB uses the standards outlined in 27CFR Part 17 to determine whether products are fit or unfit for beverage purposes.
Examples of food products that have been found to be unfit for beverage purposes are: 1) Sauces or syrups. Sauces, or syrups consisting of sugar solutions and distilled spirits, in which the ethanol content is not more than 12 percent by volume and the sugar content is not less than 60 grams per 100 cubic centimeters (also called milliliters).

Can Rosemary Red Wine be used “as is” or straight from the jar?
We do not recommend using the sauce this way. This is a base or starter sauce, deeply flavored and under-seasoned by design. To bring out the best in this sauce (and to experience Harry’s famous Bolognese), you will need to brown ground beef or mushrooms, add the sauce, let it all meld together, and season all to taste. If you are doing slow cooker recipes or braised meats – this is the perfect base sauce to deliver deep flavor without over seasoning.
Consider this your pantry’s swiss army knife – so many possibilities! Our canvas – your masterpiece!
What is so unique about Harry’s Famous Rustic Tomato Basil Sauce?
Ripe tomatoes slowly simmered with lovely garlic and basil for a versatile pantry staple you can rely on. Consider this your cheat sheet to flavorful, satisfying (and dare we say healthy) weeknight meals.
What is so unique about Harry’s Famous Marinara No°7 Sauce?
Looks like marinara. Smells like marinara. But this unbelievably delicious sauce has a secret: 7 nutritious, fresh vegetables are stashed inside. No one does Marinara like us – ½ Cup of Veggies in every serving and epic flavor you won’t be able to forget!
What is so unique about Harry’s Famous Lemon Pepper Dill Sauce?
This tomato sauce is fresh, citrusy, herbaceous, and unforgettable - perfect with seafood, chicken, or anything you’d squeeze lemon on. “I never thought you could get flavor like this in a jar” is what one of our Mom Taste Testers said and we agree! And don’t forget to add cream for
an even richer, more decadent sauce.
Basically, consider this your culinary playground!
What is so unique about Harry’s Famous Spicy Tarragon Vodka Sauce?
Rather than replicate, we decided to innovate. Our vodka sauce is like nothing you’ve ever tasted, nodding to Chef Renee’s French culinary training with subtle tarragon. Red pepper flakes lend a tingling heat to this sauce that doubles as a spicy, herby tomato base when used as-is and an elevated take on a classic with the addition of cream.

Company
What does “open-source” mean? Do you really give the recipes and methods away?
Yep, it’s true. Our recipes are open-source. Meaning that you know exactly what’s in the recipe, and how to make it from scratch. Because one day, you may have time to make a sauce from start-to-finish, and another day-you may be strapped for time. You shouldn’t have to compromise quality, nutrition, flavor, or transparency for convenience. That’s why we founded The Open Food Company, LLC to bring Harry’s Famous Sauces to market
We are tired of secret recipes with secret ingredients. It’s high time for easy-to-access information AND deliciousness available at your fingertips - so you can make the best choice for yourself and your family – whatever that choice is.
What is The Open Food Company’s mission?
Our mission is to transform the future of food by crafting CPG products made with real, simple ingredients that deliver restaurant-quality meals in minutes. With an unwavering commitment to ingredient transparency, nutrition, and bold flavor, we’re not just creating a product—we’re igniting a movement toward better food for all.
Who are The Open Food Company’s charity partners?
We are truly fortunate to have four charity partner organizations who we proudly support with Harry’s Famous Sauce:
The Open Door Food Pantry in Gloucester, MA, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Food Bank for New York City, and Project Angel Food in West Hollywood are all working tirelessly to alleviate hunger in our communities.
We believe that for-profit businesses should “give back” in meaningful ways and we want to become a proof-point to demonstrate this is not only possible, but deeply impactful when it is baked into the business model from the beginning (yes, pun intended!).
